The purpose of Anglican 1000 is to ignite a cooperative church planting movement across North America in response to the call for 1000 new congregations by Archbishop Duncan during his installation in July 2009. At the center of our efforts are the latest church plants. Every day we are hearing from prospective church planters, hearing about congregations that have started, and learning about plans that are bubbling up across the US and Canada.
We want to help catalog these churches and tell their stories. We want to know why they were planted, who is planting them, and who are they reaching. We want you to see what is possible and to connect with them if you are looking for a place to plug in. If you are planting a church and want to be listed under our latest plants or on our plant finder, we want to connect to you! E-mail daniela@anglican1000.org so that we can pray for you, encourage you, and tell your story.

Christ Church Anglican · Grand Junction, CO

http://ccagj.anglicanconnection.net/
Christ Church was birthed out of the need for an Anglican church on the western slopes of Colorado by a husband and wife. Meeting with leadership of Christ Church Kansas City they were encouraged to reach out to others. A church was birthed and the need for a priest was the direction the leadershp pursued. They found Shane Carr (lay pastor, awaiting priestly orders within the next few months) in a small town on the Eastern Plains of Colorado. Within a few months he was called to be the new priest. Shane has been the pastor of the church for the past four months. We meet by Mesa State College in a coffee shop named Christ Center. The church then was offered to help with another church plant in Eagle Valley (near Vail). So the church that is being planted is starting another church with Shane leading both. This is awesome. We would like to plant another church in the next year. Our vision statement is: To know Jesus and make him known through authentic worship together. If you are near Grand Junction or Vail join us.
Winchester Anglican Church · Winchester, VA
http://www.winchesteranglican.com
On July 19th, 2009 Winchester Anglican held it’s first service of worship in a living room in Winchester, VA. Now, nearly 1 year later, we are a growing, bible-trusting and teaching community of believers who are committed to “Loving the Lord, Loving People, and Making Disciples of Jesus Christ.” Winchester, Virginia is one of the 3 fastest growing metropolitan areas in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Seventy miles west of the nation’s capital and only a short drive from Skyline Drive and the Shenandoah National Forest, Winchester is beautiful, affordable, and accessible to Northern Virginia. Multiple universities and community colleges, combined with the draw of the health and human services community led us to our mission to provide easily identifiable pathways for gospel conversation. An abundance of evidence from various sources indicated a real need and an opening for this new church—an orthodox, Bible-based, liturgical church in Winchester that seeks to build bridges to faith in Christ. It is our prayer that because of this work, some who do not know Christ today will know and love him tomorrow and that in the process, we who are a part of this mission will mature in our faith. Come and be a part of this growing community of faith!

Cincinnati Anglican Fellowship · Springdale, OH

Led by the Rev. Deacon David Stiles, is a new work that seeks to Explore, Engage, and Exalt. Explore - During our time together we explore timeless truths from Scripture to learn more about God, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. In exploring Scripture we also learn important truths about ourselves and practical insights for living in today’s world. Engage - During our time together we also engage God in prayer; seeking His presence, His encouragement, His comfort and His support in our lives and in the lives of others. Exalt - In addition, we exalt God with the use of contemporary songs written only a few years ago and ancient prayers written many centuries ago to thank God for the many blessings that He has provided and express our worship to him. Currently, this fellowship is meeting in home groups for spiritual formation and regularly gathers for monthly worship.
Cross Anglican Fellowship - The University of Kentucky · Lexington, KY

Under the leadership of Fr. Matt Purpot, Cross Anglican Fellowship is an Anglican student outreach to the University of Kentucky. Lots of people are hungry for something meaningful in their lives…but just not sure what’s missing. It has something to do with the deepest part of ourselves and with God. Cross Anglican Fellowship is committed to becoming wholehearted disciples of Jesus Christ, and with his help, building a relationship with God and finding that something we have been missing. Here is their vision: Our desire is to join people on the journey of life as they attempt to become real with themselves, others, and God. We want to help people become fully alive by leading them to the Truth, which will set them free (John 8:32) to live as they were meant to live – “The glory of God is man (and woman) fully alive” (Saint Irenaeus).
St. Aidan’s Anglican Church · Nicholasville, KY

http://www.jessamineanglicans.org
The purpose of Christ’s church is the spreading of His Kingdom through the proclamation of the Gospel. Jesus’ Great Commission to His followers was to preach the Gospel to all nations, baptizing them, and making them into disciples. This is what His Kingdom looks like. St. Aidan’s is a community dedicated to Worship, Prayer, and Discipleship for the sake of Jessamine County. More than one-half of Jessamine county’s 45,000 residents don’t have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Jessamine County doesn’t need another Church. Jessamine County needs a community of believers who are committed to Christ, to His Church, and to His Heart for the lost, the poor, the weak, the sick, and the lonely. Using the life and ministry of St. Aidan as a model, we see ourselves as a Celtic abbey, a community of believers devoted to each other through prayer and service for the sake of the larger community around us. St. Aidan’s Church is committed to pursuing meaningful relationships with those around us who do not know Christ and to intentional acts of service to the least, the last, and the lost of Jessamine County. We are committed to being a light in the darkness and being an image for those around us to see what life looks like when God is in-charge. This new work is being led by Fr. Lee McLeod
St. Barnabas Anglican Church · Covington, KY

http://www.kentuckyanglican.org
St. Barnabas is a new work in Covington, Kentucky under the leadership of Fr. Chris Peterson that strives to love Covington, Northern Kentucky, and Cincinnatti. The congregation strives to live in the light of Christ, which means several things. They listen to the Scriptures to hear his word. They look to the saints through the ages for examples for life. They turn to one another for the touch of his Spirit. They turn to the world to offer ourselves for its life as he did. Together, they are learning and growing up into Christ. With worship and prayers that date back to the first centuries of Christianity, their values and practices are rooted in the teachings of the gospels and the early church. Having said that, they seek to express the beauty and history of the ancient church in ways that modern people will find familiar with the hope that our life of worship with look much like Christ’s incarnation…the beauty of eternity captured in a moment of time. This congregation gathers for worship at Fr. Peterson’s home.
Anglican Church of the Trinity · Minneapolis, MN
http://www.trinityminneapolis.org
Our story is everyone’s story. We’re hungry for God; we’re famished from years of empty calories served up by empty spiritualities; now we’re seeking Jesus, the Bread of Life.
We’re new at this. We were established in May 2010 as a Parish-in-Formation of the Anglican Church in North America. Currently, our numbers are small, but we’re already meeting weekly for worship. During the rest of the week, we’re working hard to launch the programs we hunger for: Christian education for all, Pastoral Care, Missions, Fellowship and more.
Most of all, we want to worship and know Christ. We’re uninterested in stewardship, expansion, service projects, lectureships, musicianship or any of that for its own sake. We’ve had our fill. Now we want Jesus. In time, our lives together will show the results and our new church will fail or flourish accordingly.
We have chosen to name this church after the Trinity. The term “Trinity” best captures the essence of the Christian understanding of the relational nature of divine being and reality. We worship a God who is an infinitely intimate community of three divine persons so bound together by mutually self-giving love as to be One God. We recognize and celebrate that our lives and the existence of the universe itself are continually upheld by the creative love flowing from this eternal fellowship of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. As people created in the image of the Trinity, we recognize that we, too, are inherently relational and as such our fulfillment and significance derive from the authenticity of our relationships with one another and most importantly with the One who created us and calls us to participate in the divine Community. We strive to be Orthodox, Scripture-Centered, Liturgical, Transformational, Evangelistic, Sacramental, Prayer-Filled, Creedal, Equipping, Spirit-Led, Egalitarian and Classical. God is the infinite center of our worship. Worship is the most important thing we do. In our worship we use the profound and beautiful structures and language of the Book of Common Prayer, traditional hymnody, and service music in the “classical” style. Worship leaders are chosen according to their gifts, not their gender.
St. Timothy Anglican Mission · Burglington, VT
http://sttimothyburlington.org
St. Timothy Anglican Mission grew out of Timothy Home Fellowship that was started in April 2005 by lay persons, and spiritually led for three years by volunteer ordained priests from neighboring states. Timothy began as a small group of people in need of a spiritual home coming together. They met in homes all around the state of Vermont for worship services once a month on Saturday mornings, adding new members as word spread about the sound biblical teaching the guest preachers provided. People drove 2 to 3 hours to attend one of these services.
St. Timothy began meeting as a distinct congregation early in 2008 under the leadership of a tent-making pastor, the Rev. Alex Cameron. Renting space from a local Greek Orthodox Church, we have grown from average Sunday attendance of 30 in September 2008, to 50 in April 2010. There is a hunger here in northern New England for the gospel. We are attracting people of every age, especially young adults, and every walk of life. We have been intentional about reaching out to the univeristy community with intellectually compelling and spiritually tranforming faith in Jesus Christ. Our membership includes several talented lay preachers, musicians, and children’s teachers who volunteer their time to share in the ministry of the church. The weekly potluck meal in the fellowship hall following the service builds intergenerational community in a very special way.
Cross of Christ Church · Glen Rose, TX
“Far be it from me to glory except in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Gal. 6:14) Seeking to embody those words of St. Paul, Cross of Christ Church in Glen Rose, TX is an upstart traditional Anglican Mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, under the direction of its Bishop, The Right Rev’d. Jack L. Iker, and its Priest, The Rev’d. Father William Estes. The initial members of our Mission began meeting, with Bp. Iker’s blessing, a little over a year ago, using “supply” Priests when available. In January, when we asked our dear Bishop to consider assigning us a regular Priest, he was gracious to assign Fr. Estes to us. We proclaim “The Faith which was once for all delivered to the Saints” (Jude 1:3), as expressed in the three historic Creeds of the One Holy Catholic & Apostolic Church, & practiced throughout 2000 years of Church history. We strive to worship the Triune God, Father Son & Holy Spirit, not according to our own whims or pop-culture, but rather according to the teachings of Scripture & Church Tradition regarding the way He desires to be worshiped, seeking to offer him “acceptable worship, with reverence & awe” (Heb. 12:28), using the Book of Common Prayer as our guide, & honoring the unique character of Anglican/Episcopal tradition & expression (“Anglican Patrimony”) within the boundaries of historic Catholic-Christian tradition. Accordingly, we “preach Christ, & him crucified” (1 Cor. 2:2), & we observe the Eucharist (Mass) as the historic & proper central act of worship (Acts 2:42). We are a small but growing parish family who loves God & one another, ranging in age from small children to Senior Citizens, thankful for God’s abundant blessings, excited about the growth & development of our parish, & seeking to share God’s love & blessings within the beautiful & growing Glen Rose & Sumervell County, Texas area, through community presence & service, loving outreach to those in need, evangelization of the un-churched, & other joyful expressions of our Savior Christ’s perfect love, grace & peace. Come worship with us, & join us as we seek to joyfully serve, love and grow!
Peninsula Anglican Church · Saanichton, BC
http://www.peninsulaanglican.com/
When the Diocese of British Columbia (Anglican Church of Canada) threatened to disestablish Brentwood Chapel, the priest and most of the parishioners determined that the best way to ensure faithfulness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and continue the Chapel’s evangelical testimony was to plant a new church under the jurisdiction of the Anglican Network in Canada. Thus was born Peninsula Anglican Church. We meet in Central Saanich, where we enjoy the generous hospitality of Friendship Community Church. Sunday mornings alternate between a friendly and engaging Holy Communion and a new thing we call Inter*Action, where a major children’s presentation delights everyone and inductive bible study replaces the sermon. A calling to be a teaching church means presenting a course on N.T.Wright’s “Surprised by Hope” with another on “Words of Worship” lined up for the fall. Our children’s ministry hosts a Vacation Bible Study in July. And plans for a ‘church in the pub’ evening of drinks and bible study will be put into practice this June. We are fifty or more people with hopes, dreams and ambitions, trusting that God will empower us and open opportunities for us to connect with the people around us. This work is being led by the Rev. Mark Davison and the Rev. Dr. Michael Pountney.
Restoration Anglican Church · Arlington, VA
http://restorationarlington.org/
Restoration Anglican Church is a group of friends who began meeting in North Arlington on January 25, 2009. We value deep community, beauty, and the Bible. We worship Jesus. We desire to be a catalyst that connects people to God, to others, and to the needs of the world. We do this by meeting on Sunday mornings to worship together, hear from the Scriptures, and celebrate the Eucharist; studying the Bible and developing community in weekly small groups; joyfully serving our local community; and using our resources to meet global needs. Our name reminds us of the biblical promise that Jesus is coming back as King to restore and reconcile all things to God, and we look forward to that day.
Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church · Moncton, NB
The congregation of Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church and its three satellite locations meet in diverse locations. The “home” congregation meets in the facilities of Moncton Wesleyan Church in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Three satellite locations are within an hour and a half (or less) of Moncton: Sussex, NB; Quispamsis, near the city of Saint John, NB; and Baie du Vin, near Miriamichi, NB. Two priests, Don Hamilton and Alan Reynolds, along with lay readers conduct the services, and once a month, we gather in Moncton for a joint service and potluck meal, always a great time of celebration. Our mission is to know Christ and make Him known. Christ the Redeemer held its inaugural service April 4, 2010.
Mountain Valley Mission · Squamish, BC

http://www.mountainvalleymission.ca/
Mountain Valley Mission is a new church start of the Anglican Coalition in Canada (ACiC) being led by the Rev. Barclay Mayo. Their mission is to connect people to the love and forgiveness of Jesus; Teach them to love each other as they have been loved and accept God’s plan for their lives then; send them to Serve the community around them. Squamish is a small community with very little Christian presence and a great deal of darkness in the midst of world-class climbing, hiking, kite-boarding, and kayaking. The folks at Mountain Valley Mission are working hard at developing ministry that is focused outwards in service to this community. St. Theresa of Avila, (1515-1582) said, “Christ has no body but yours, No hands, no feet on earth but yours, Yours are the eyes with which He lookswith compassion on this world, Yours are the feet with which He walks to do good, Yours are the hands, with which He blesses all the world.” Towards this end, this mission has established a Food Co-op, where members can pool their resources to bulk purchase healthy food, repackage and then offer it for sale at cost to those who are in need of a hand up. They are also running an Alpha Course in a local coffee shop and gathering regularly for public worship. To keep track of this pioneering work, check out the planter’s blog.
Living Stones Church · Fort Bend, TX
http://www.newfortbendchurch.org
The new Living Stones Church will serve Fort Bend County, Texas with a passion to seek the lost and invite them to follow God in a comfortable and sacred environment. We live in Spirit-filled relationships. We teach the world how to celebrate a life in God through Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Living Stones Church is committed to being: A church that reaches the lost, those who do not know Jesus as Lord and Savior, and who do not belong to a faith community. A church that teaches children the ways of the Lord Jesus is the most important thing this church ever does. A church where children will believe this is their church. A church where all generations will be involved in the life of the church. Older generations will minister to younger generations. A church whose life will be based on relationships and mentoring. Small group participation will honor God’s creative purpose of living in community and using us as living stones to build up His church. A church that celebrates our multi-ethnic community. This new work is being led by the Rev. Frankie Rodriguez. Currently, a Covenant Team Bible Study is currently meeting together as the core team for this new work that plans to launch public worship Fall 2010.

St. Paul’s Anglican Church · Charlotte, NC
http://www.stpaulsanglican.net
Saint Paul’s Anglican began with a group of people meeting together to pray and discern, to listen to the Spirit. We long to walk together following Jesus in a way that is deeply authentic. We want to live with a greater confidence in God. We thirst for beauty, are fed by the Word and the Sacraments, and have great joy in community. We have found that the Gospel changes everything. The Gospel calls us to lives of coherence, sacrificial love, and joy. The Gospel means that Jesus is near and dear to us, though also He is wild and free and more than we can handle! As C. S. Lewis insisted, He is not tame, but He is good. Following Jesus is indeed life’s greatest adventure, and we are passionate about His glory and the Reign of God in the world. This new work is being led by Fr. Tim Clayton.
Church of the Ascension · Langley, BC
http://www.ascensionlangley.ca
The Church of the Ascension, Langley, British Columbia is one of the first Anglican 1000 Parishes. Early in 2009 we received permission from the Bishop and Archdeacon to begin planting a new parish in this suburb of Vancouver. We were suprised to find that God had already gone before us. A bible study group was already meeting and praying that a parish might be established in this area. We joined them and began planning a public meeting to gather further interest. Four monthly communion services were held over the summer of 2009 with attendance ranging from 20 to 30. A major challenge of that summer was identifying suitable public space for worship. After examining 40 sites, one clear choice emerged that would be permanent, economical and attractive. We now meet every Sunday at 11 A.M in the George Preston Recreation Centre at 20699 42nd Avenue Langley. In the fall of 2009 we received standing as a Parish of the Anglican Network in Canada. After several months of meeting we now average between 30 to 40 people and have many aspects of program. We are fully self-sufficient financially, and are reaching out to our community.
We give thanks to God for all that he is doing in our midst, and for the privilege of serving him in this community.

Emmaus Anglican Church · Montreal, QC
Emmaus Anglican Church is a new work in Montreal, Quebec. This lay initiative is made up of a cross-section of professionals, artists, students, retired folk and homeless people. Very much in the process of discerning their vision, it seems they are moving toward being a downtown church that ministers to the poor. (The Open Door comes under Emmaus and is a ministry to the homeless). They have have an interest in prayer/healing ministry, serving youth and young adults, social justice, and in being open to any ministries the Holy Spirit puts on our peoples’ hearts to begin. Worship is central and they have been blessed with an great team of lay leaders/speakers and people with many different giftings. This community is currently praying for a priest/minister who will share our vision and join with us in a team approach. Please pray for wisdom and spiritual protection as they minister in a beautiful, but spiritually dark and hurting city. Quebec has its own distinct culture and they feel priviledged and excited to be part of this ‘new thing’ God is doing here in Montreal!
Holy Trinity Church: Treasure Valley · Meridian, ID

Less than a year ago, Bishop Todd Hunter of Churches for the Sake of Others invited church planter Rev. Chris Zoephel to guide a very small group of non-Anglicans into the Anglican Church and the ancient paths of pursuing God. From initial Thursday evenings in living rooms, then Sunday afternoons in a coffee shop, and now into a 100-year old church building, Holy Trinity has drawn believers from across the Treasure Valley of Idaho who desire spiritual formation in order to spread the message of the Redeeming Lord. With Chris’s guidance and the help of Assistant Rector Ben Fischer, members of the church lead formational prayer groups, facilitate Bible studies at the local university, teach classes on church history, minister with the homeless population, host community art shows, and conduct personal spiritual direction. Planted in the midst of a large Mormon population, Holy Trinity hopes to sow Gospel seed widely in the Treasure Valley and to win lifelong disciples of Christ.
Emmanuel Anglican Fellowship · Twinsburg, OH

http://www.emmanuelanglicanfellowship.wordpress.com
Emmanuel Anglican Fellowship is a new house church led by Fr. Ken Bieber. They are men and women of faith who have gathered together to form this new church for two purposes. The first is to grow in the love and knowledge of the Lord. The second is to share that love and knowledge with others. Though mostly Anglican in our Christian growth, they come from diverse backgrounds. At the same time they are united in our belief in the authority of scripture, as interpreted and passed to us by the ongoing witness of the church throughout the ages. They have also found a component of our ministry is to reach those who have, for a variety of reasons, been alienated from the church and restore them to a healthy relationship with the Lord and the people of God. They are not simply adding Christians to the congregation, but seeking to introduce others to Jesus Christ. In fact, the photo was taken following the first adult baptism at this new work!

Our service is designed to appeal to a broad age range and includes blended worship of classical hymns, contemporary Christian music and jazz. We have a special focus on to families and their children. We offer a youth choir, youth group, homework club, book studies on A Young Woman After God’s Own Heart and A Young Man After God’s Own Heart as well Sunday morning classes.
Church of the Advent · Atlanta, GA

The Advent is a church plant out of Trinity Vineyard Church on the west side of Atlanta. The vision to plant The Advent came seven years ago when a group from the Atlanta Vineyard came to the city to begin planting small communities of Christians. The first church that was planted was Trinity Vineyard, but the vision of the leaders was never to be a mega-church. Rather the vision was to grow and plant more churches throughout the city. The Advent became the first church to be planted out of Trinity Vineyard in the city of Atlanta. The first Sunday service was October 4th, 2009. Our mission is to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those farther east in the city: to love and serve the world in Jesus’ name. Dale Brown, who was part of the planting team of Trinity Vineyard, is the lead planter of Church of the Advent. The church meets at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in the heart of Atlanta.

The Table (Church) · Victoria, BC

The Table is a church plant in downtown Victoria, BC whose purpose is to draw people into communion with Christ, community with one another, and to send people into their neighbourhoods to bless their neighbours. We adopted the name The Table because we aim to set up many tables of worship throughout Greater Victoria that will meet outside church facilities - in essence, we hope to bring the communion table to the dinner table. We are more than a house church movement, though, since we also intend to gather every other week on Sunday nights for corporate worship. Our model is best described as a pomegranate - one fruit (The Table proper) with many clusters (local Table groups), and we’ve organized this way so that people can not only “bring people to church” on common worship Sundays, but also “bring the church to the people” in their local gatherings. The two planters, Josh Wilton and Andy Withrow, have started three Table groups already, and have gathered a “launch team” to help publicly launch this new work, God-willing, Sept 2010.
St. Gabriel’s Anglican Church · Springdale, AR
http://www.stgabrielsanglican.org
St. Gabriel’s Anglican Church is more of a transplant than a new plant. Having been around well over two decades it got its start as part of the continuing church movement of the 1970s. In June of 2009, St. Gabriel’s voted to join the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth - a founding diocese of the newly formed Anglican Church in North America. Since then average Sunday attendance has gone from the low 30s to the High 70s! As the only ACNA church in all of North West Arkansas St. Gabriel’s truly ministers to those searching for a traditional Anglican church family. St. Gabriel’s is led by Fr. John Slavin.
New Hope Anglican Church · Lacey, WA
http://www.NewHopeAnglicanChurch.org/
New Hope is a CANA congregation with a vision to know and live in the love of Christ. Started by Fr. Their dream is to grow in their relationship with God and make a difference in the community. Towards that goal, the church is actively involved with the local Olympia Union Gospel Mission and is building an outreach to the soldiers and airmen of Fort Lewis and McChord AFB, which is only 15 minutes away.
St. Joseph’s Anglican Church · Trussville, AL
http://www.stjosephtrussville.org/
St Joseph was founded in 2009 as one of the first plants within the new Anglican Church in North America. They are following The Lord’s call of the Great Commission to plant a church in the North East area of Birmingham. As they minister the Gospel to the surrounding communities, they are heavily involved with ministry to incarcerated youth at a nearby detention facility. They have even sponsored a Chaplain to this facility, through our relationship with CANA. The founding members of the congregation come from many Christian backgrounds. They worship at Historic Penny Brook Chapel, an early 1900’s mission church building that was renovated as use as a wedding chapel. They chose St Joseph as our Patron Saint, to ever remind us of his commitment, devotion and obedience to God’s word, as we model our ministries in the Trussville area.

Rex Benfield, senior warden of Christ the King, leads Morning Prayer on Sundays and Fr. Andrew Gross of Holy Trinity periodically celebrates Eucharist with us.

Trinity Anglican Fellowship · Erie, PA

Trinity began as a handful of Christians who answered God’s call to plant an orthodox Anglican witness on the shores of Lake Erie. We held our first living room service in July and quickly ran out of room! Now in a rented facility, God continues to bless us. Kind of in an Anglican No-Man’s-Land, we have come under the ecclesiastical oversight of Bishop Doc Loomis (The Anglican Mission) as our youth participate in the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s Happening. We endorse the Ancient-Future model of ministry, and we integrate the evangelical, the catholic, and the Spirit-Filled in our worship and discipleship. Almost a third of our fellowship comes from non-Anglican backgrounds, and family members worship together that did not a year ago. God willing, ten people (teens and adults) will be confirmed in April!

St. Paul Anglican Bible Church · Stoney Creek, ON
The journey into planting a church began when seven people from four families each felt called to start a new parish and God in His inimitable fashion drew these seven together with their distinct skills, talents and gifts during the spring and summer of 2008. We prayed constantly for God’s guidance and after a year were convinced that the Lord had knit us together as a family—a community—with a call to minister His Word in Stoney Creek. During the summer of 2009 we held worship services in a carport where our first parishioners joined us. Prayers were answered as the gym in John Knox Christian School was secured for our services. We held our first indoor service in October 2009, and continue to worship in the gym every Sunday at 3pm. Our vision is to teach, preach, baptize, and make disciples of all people in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Church of the Cross · Boston, MA

Church of the Cross is a church plant in Boston, Massachusetts that is seeking to be a missional family. Beginning in 2008, seminarian Ben Rey began to gather a small core of people together. As this small core soon outgrew his living room, the Rev. Mark Booker, then a pastor at Church of the Resurrection in Washington, D.C., began to discern a call to join the new work and moved to Boston with his wife and three kids in the Spring of 2009. Church of the Cross desires to reach out to families and individuals by proclaiming the Gospel and the Kingdom through authentic relationships, engagement with the arts, partnering with local non-profits in working with the marginalized and by being a family in the midst of city often filled with loneliness.
